Kenneth B. Rubin

Kenneth B. Rubin is now “Of Counsel” to the firm.  He has focused his practice in the area of Family and Matrimonial law for over 35 years. Attorney Rubin has received training in Mediation from the Academy of Family Mediators, from The Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce and from the Woodbury Institute of Woodbury College – Mediation Training Workshop. Attorney Rubin has been selected by his peers to be included in Best Lawyers in America for his work in the practice areas of Family Law and Family Law Mediation.  He has also been recognized in Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers with the highest Peer Rating of AV in Legal Ability and Ethical Standards.  He is a member of the Family Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and the New Haven County Bar Association.

Attorney Rubin has transitioned his family law litigation practice to “family law mediation” and “private special mastering.”  He has integrated into these avenues of “alternate dispute resolution” the characteristics of his family law practice in which he pursued client representation on a case- by-case basis, with attention to detail and his goal to forge settlement agreements reflecting his client’s best interests with his clients having a role of self-determination in the most beneficial outcome.

Attorney Rubin has served on the Connecticut Judicial Branch’s Public Service and Trust Commission which was charged with developing a long-term Strategic Plan for the Judicial Branch’s goal of increasing access to justice, responding to changing demographics in Connecticut, improving the delivery of services, and accountability to the public it serves. He also served on the Connecticut Family Law Bar Association’s Committee on Gender Bias and the Courts.  From 2002 through 2016, Attorney Rubin has been a continuing legal education speaker on the topic of family law practice for the New Haven County Bar’s yearly “Nuts & Bolts” seminar series. Attorney Rubin has acted as a family law Special Master in several Superior Court jurisdictions in the State of Connecticut and has acted as a Special Master for the Superior Court State of Connecticut Regional Family Trial Docket in Middletown, Connecticut since its inception in 1994.
